Riedel Winewings Sauvignon Blanc Wine Glass

The RIEDEL WINEWINGS concept was developed with the intention of enhancing the aroma and overall tasting experience of wine. The unique design features a flat and stretched bottom, with a wing-like shape that increases the surface area the wine is exposed to. This design allows for higher levels of evaporation, resulting in a greater intensity of aroma. By positioning one's head closer to the glass, the nose is exposed to the wider surface of the wine, further enhancing the sensory experience.

In order to fully capture the delicate layered aromas of different grape varieties, the glass walls are curved and the opening of each glass is calibrated to its rim diameter. The RIEDEL WINEWINGS collection includes seven glasses in total, specifically designed for red wines, white wines, and Champagne/sparkling wines. The three white wine glasses cater to the classic and most significant white varietals, each with distinct flavors and mouthfeel that require a specific glass shape to appreciate their unique characteristics.

Georg, a spokesperson for RIEDEL, explains the need for three different glasses for white wine variations. The Chardonnay glass is ideal for wines with fresh yellow fruit aromas and buttery flavors from oak aging. The Riesling glass is suited for wines with powerful floral aromas, acidity, and a touch of sweetness, while the Sauvignon Blanc glass enhances herbaceous notes, citrus aromas, and minerality.

The Winewings wine glasses are not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing, with a flat-bottomed and wide design resembling the wing of an aircraft, complete with winglets. These glasses are machine-made and dishwasher safe, making them convenient for everyday use. The dimensions of each glass are 4.25Lx4.25Wx9.84H inches, ensuring a comfortable grip and optimal wine enjoyment.
